Essa freqüente pergunta é outro mito. Não há nenhum dado científico comprovando que exista qualquer tipo de relação entre a utilização de depilação com cera quente e o surgimento de varizes.

O principal fator de risco é alguém da família que apresente esta doença, porém outros fatores podem favorecer seu aparecimento ou agravar o quadro, por exemplo, idade acima de 30 anos, sedentarismo, tabagismo e sexo, as mulheres são mais propensas do que os homens, devido a fatores hormonais (gestação, menstruação e menopausa), devido maior facilidade de dilatação das veias.
